Migrant groups are sticking together and working in their own pockets. They won't use the services of any white guy. I feel really throw under the bus by these governments. Bringing in thousands and thousands of these refugees who have no skills and no ability to even speak the language. Making them entirely reliant upon government. I'm not so sure of what benefits this gives us citizens here, but it sure builds for a bigger and bigger government! Only thing I can see in the future is for me to leave Winnipeg.Gerry MacIntoshnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2522826563802293833.post-42403324127287892282016-07-16T08:54:30.769-05:002016-07-16T08:54:30.769-05:00The constant rise in taxes, water rates, and Hydro...The constant rise in taxes, water rates, and Hydro costs (in addition to the never ending red-tape the city lays on small business), is like a slow death by a thousand cuts to a business owner. I could not imagine what a restaurant faces. But, I do know that my small business is barely surviving. There's just too much regulation and way too much taxation. If things don't change, I'll be out of business within 3-5 years. I absolutely believe that the city council and the Provincial and Federal Governments are completely out of touch with what is happening on Main St. Their total disconnect from the people who are trying to earn a living by small business is astounding!Cam Rayburnnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2522826563802293833.post-91569519337903644152016-07-13T13:47:53.597-05:002016-07-13T13:47:53.597-05:00My Aunt owns a small restaurant on Portage Ave. an...My Aunt owns a small restaurant on Portage Ave. and she's struggling. The Interact fees alone have doubled in the last few years. The stress is starting to take a toll on her health. The restaurant business in Winnipeg is going to hit really hard times in the next year. If there's a financial collapse, they'll completely fall apart.Chandra44noreply@blogger.com
