I Live in Winnipeg... Should I Own a Gun?

Winnipeg has become one seriously dangerous city over the past few years. The year 2011 gave us a whopping Thirty-Five homicides. Thugs, bikers and gang violence, combined with an increasing number of people suffering from FAS, (Fetal Alcohol Syndrome), has created a toxic class of citizen that seems to fuel the city with vicious crime. And, that doesn't even touch on the weekly gang initiations, muggings, home invasions, attacks and collection of pedophiles & psychopaths roaming the street.

Although, some will argue, that Winnipeg's crime problems are isolated to certain areas of the city. And, that "overall" Winnipeg is a safe town... And, that the crime problems we have here are simply a problem to only a select few neighborhood's. However, if this is a belief among some people, one could ask them, "what would you do if you were attacked inside your own home?" If your life, or your wife's, or your children's life was in immediate danger from another person's reckless disregard... What Would You Do? How could you stop the malefactor before he inflicted grave bodily harm upon you?

After many years of news reports describing home invasions, a growing question on the mind's of some citizens of Winnipeg is, "how safe am I in my own home?" That, of course, depends upon quite a number of factors... These could include; where you live, if you have an alarm installed, how secure your house actually is, and whether or not you answer yes to, "do you own a firearm?"

Why are guns a hot button topic here in Canada? They certainly aren't a hot button to our closest neighbor's next door in the U.S.A. Their 2nd Amendment allows citizens the right to bear arms. In fact, over 40 U.S. States allow their citizens to carry a high caliber semi-automatic pistol on themselves for personal defense after taking a certification program. In the United States, this is called a, "Concealed Carry Permit." There is legislation in Canada for what is known as an, "Authorization to Carry." However, this ATC permit is so difficult to attain, it is unknown how many Canadians have ever been issued one. Even Police Constables do not receive them. In fact, Police officers do not even receive a basic Canadian PAL (Possession Acquisition License).

In Canada, we have a very limited right to bear arms. And, we have a limited right to protect our property, (research America's Castle Doctrine law for a shocking comparison). In Canada, if we choose to use deadly force to protect ourselves, we would be facing a heap of legal concerns.

Hence, the "Hot Button" topic. Since we have no "in print" legislation in Canada that firmly allows us to protect ourselves, our property, or our loved ones... we must rely entirely upon the grayest of gray legal areas of the Crown and English Common Law. In Canada, we must have the Crown, "see our side" of situations when we have no other choice but to apply the use of deadly forceto protect our lives.

This is what we'll just call walking on very thin ice, since if you did actually shoot someone - and if things looked like there was (even a shred) of evidence that the circumstances of the situation were in any way not of a nature deemed to any prudent person as; immediate, unavoidable danger of death, or grave bodily harm to you or a loved one... you are in a world of trouble. Therefore, be warned... ANYTIME YOU DRAW THE GUN, YOU'RE WALKING ON THIN ICE.

Justification of life is the only way you could possibly put forth any kind of defense in regard to using a firearm against another person in a deadly-force conflict in Canada. Not to mention something else yet... stop for a moment, ask yourself the following question:

"how prepared am I to carry on in my life, to look myself in the mirror everyday, knowing that I took the life of another person?"

These are the fine line details when it comes to gun ownership in Winnipeg. If you take the test, receive your PAL, and buy a firearm... if the day comes where there's a situation where you use your weapon, are you prudent enough to act righteously in that moment so that you can truly be justified in the eyes of the Crown when it comes to your court day? And, are you SURE that you can carry on in your life - if you had to kill another human being?

Home Insurance Company Inspection Scam

The suckers who respond to their insurance company calling to do a "Home Inspection," will end up regretting it. Insurance companies have ramped up their calls to policy holders who own older homes. A large part of this has to do with stealing millions more in fees and the huge amount of homes built prior to 1950 have become easy targets to massively increase their revenues.

HOW THE HOME INSPECTION SCAM WORKS:
You get a call one day from your agent saying, "We want to inform you that your home has come up for inspection, someone from _________ will be calling you to set up a time to come and inspect your property."

If you ask why, they'll just smile and say, "oh, your insurer just randomly selects houses for this." After you hang up, prepare for that sinking feeling in your gut... because Yes - something is amiss!

THE INSPECTION ITSELF:
If you get suckered into allowing an inspector into your home, you're in for a nightmare! The inspector, (who by the way will likely be some 20 year old twerp with no real knowledge of what a solid home actually is), will show up with a notepad and a silly grin. Also, the company that these, "appraiser's," tend to work for all seem to be completely, "off the radar," businesses.

One popular company used by Intact is called, "Underwriting Analysis." Try and find ANY information about this company online or in your local phone book! They Do Not exist! Remember, you're letting these people, (these strangers), into you home. Yet, their company doesn't even have an office, an address, or a company website! VERY, very strange indeed.

Not having tele-posts, or a sump pump, or a back up valve will be thrown at you first. Then, they'll be the issue of the dreaded, "Knob and Tube Wiring." Ahhh, yes get prepared for this one because this is their foundation of the home inspection SCAM.

KNOB-and-TUBE WIRING:
Let's begin by understanding that this wiring system is the BEST wiring system in the world. It runs pristine copper (pure copper - by the way) inside of rubberized and cloth wrapped individual separated wires (approx. 6" YES - SIX inches apart!). Wires travel along walls and through joists in heavy protective porcelain insulating tubes. And, they get supported along their length on nailed-down porcelain knob insulators. Where conductors enter a wiring device such as a lamp or switch, (or were pulled into a wall), they are protected by heavy flexible cloth insulating sleeves called looms.

This system is probably 50x safer than modern, "state-of-the-art wiring." The REAL reason why it wasn't used past 1950, is because of the high cost of installation compared with use of power cables. However, the insurance companies will all say that it isn't SAFE. Which is a complete and TOTAL LIE. It is safe, incredibly safe and therefore very expensive to install. This system (on a larger scale) is exactly how Manitoba Hydro runs all of it's wires into sub-stations across Manitoba. Also, keep in mind that knob and tube is still used today for many heavy duty electrical applications and all of the components are still in full production.

MODERN HOME WIRING (Made in China):
Now, consider that modern power cables are but millimeters apart inside of cheap "Made in China" plastic and the wire is NOT 100% pure copper. (Instead, it is a blend of metals that balance out to BARELY meet the building code). Although the new wiring does have a ground, only large power capacity electrical devices require any ground, (i.e., Dishwashers, Dryer Units, Washing Machines, Fridges, Stoves, etc.). The wiring for these devices would have more than likely been installed by an electrician many years ago. And, would completely bypass the knob & tube entirely.

Anyone that owns an older home likely already has a new 100 amp panel and plenty of up-dated wiring to link the larger capacity electrical devices. The changes began occurring in the 1960's & 70's, so seeing as how it is 2011... it is highly unlikely that any knob & tube wired homes are, "Un-Safe."

WHAT TO DO:
As soon as you get off the phone with the agent, start calling around to find out who else offers insurance for your older home, and who WON'T be harassing you about the age of your house.

In Manitoba the WORST offenders of this scam are Intact Insurance and CAA. Largely sold out of the M.I.G. insurance company. Intact commissions to brokers are one of the highest in the industry. Have you noticed all of the M.I.G. bus benches, and brochures being mailed out lately. How about that fancy new building on the lot of Ray & Jerry's Restaurant on Portage Ave.? They're getting all of that money from ripping off Manitobans.

WHO "RESPECTS" OLDER WINNIPEG HOMES?:
Wawanesa Insurance insures many of the older homes in Winnipeg. One broker we spoke to said that upwards of 80% of the older homes in Wolseley, St. Boniface and River Heights are insured by Wawanesa Insurance. Ask your broker about perhaps switching to them. As long as you have a newer 100 amp panel, they will respect your property. At the same time, if you're switching, then review your policy as well. If you were with a company like Intact, it's likely you were overpaying by 30% or more.

WHAT NOT TO DO:
Never let an inspector into your home - PERIOD. At worse, they will not renew your policy (after it runs it's term). If you make the mistake of letting somebody into your home, they'll likely demand that thousands of dollars of work be done. THIS IS the SCAM - by the way.

They might even use scare tactics, like telling you to do it all within 30 days. Just cancel your policy. Give them the boot and switch to another provider. Worse case, you'll have to pay one month more on your policy to break the contract. But, this is better than getting stuck with the alternative. Plus, a policy review is always good to do every few years anyway. And, try staying far away from the big brokers like M.I.G. They will generally never have your best interests at heart. They're after commissions - plain and simple. So, the bigger the policy the better!

REVIEWING THE SCAM... ONE LAST TIME:
See, the scam is simply this... obviously nobody will be able to re-wire their older home, and install all of the other upgrades. So, the insurance company will come to your rescue! They'll forgive the unsafe conditions... but, your premiums will rise by up to, (are you sitting down?), 3000%!

YIKES, what a complete farce. And, home owners who don't know any better are complying every day in Winnipeg. It's creating Millions in added revenues for companies like Intact. And, all of that money is flowing out of our City & province. Intact insurance is based in Toronto Ontario.

And, keep in mind, there is no regulatory body overseeing any of this because it is a giant revenue increasing puke of a scam for all involved. Everyone benefits; electricians, carpenters, insurance companies, agents, etc. Thus, zero regulation. I'd like to know how many politicians own stocks in insurance companies like Intact.

15 Yr. Old Punk Murders Pizza Store Clerk...

A 15-year-old boy has been arrested and charged with murder in the death of a 54-year-old Pizza Hotline employee.

Winnipeg police said homicide detectives arrested the suspect at about 11 p.m. Monday in the area of Munroe Avenue and Panet Road.

He has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with the death of 54 year old Gerald Crayford, who worked at the Pizza Hotline outlet at 1100 Concordia Ave.

Police said Crayford was injured when two males robbed the outlet early Sunday morning using an axe as a weapon. The Winnipeg resident was taken to hospital in critical condition, and died from his injuries the following day.

The suspect was detained in custody at the Manitoba Youth Centre, and the police investigation is continuing.

UPDATE:
On May 19th Police arrested a second man in connection with the fatal attack on a 54-year-old man in a northeast Winnipeg pizza business.

Byron Charlie Bushie, 18, has been charged with second-degree murder after officers arrested him at about 2:40 a.m. in the east end of the city.

Gerald Crayford, was a pizza delivery man working the night shift, he was married and a stepfather to three adult children.

A disciplinary hearing has been set for Winnipeg lawyer JACK KING accused of pressuring a black man of Trinidadian descent to have sex with his wife Lori Douglas (a family court judge).

Winnipeg lawyer Jack King is to appear before the Law Society of Manitoba on March 28, 2011 on a charge of professional misconduct. Mr. King is accused by a former client, Alexander Chapman, who says King gave him sexually explicit photos of his wife, Lori Douglas, in 2003. After being shown the naked photographs of the senior Manitoba judge (engaged in various bondage sex acts with sex toys and over 30 pictures of her in nude poses) Mr. Chapman was harassed and later was pressed to have sex with Lori Douglas. Lori Douglas was named a judge two years later.

King has admitted to sharing photos with Chapman, but King's lawyer has said his client was having mental issues at the time and acting without his wife's knowledge. King didn't tell his wife that he had shown the pictures to anyone — or that he had posted the photos on a porn website.

"If pictures of you naked end up on an internet website, it's quite difficult to say you have any further credibility to be a judge," - Sébastien Grammond, (dean of civil law at the University of Ottawa).

The law society can impose a range of penalties if it finds King guilty, including revoking his licence to practise law.

ALEX CHAPMAN'S STORY:
During my divorce proceedings Mr. King invited me out for a drink. He kept talking to me about porn websites and stuff, and then he wrote down a website for me to go to called Darkcavern.com," said Chapman, (who is black and originally from Trinidad).

King supplied Alex with a password, Chapman said, King told him to look at a section called, "Our White Princesses," where white women post photos to attract black men. Numerous nude photos of King's wife, (who was a lawyer at the same firm her husband worked at), were posted there, Chapman said.

"I wanted to puke," Chapman said. "[The pictures] were disgusting. I couldn't believe my lawyer was doing this to me."

It apparently wasn't the first time that Mr. King sought out a black man to have sex with his wife. An ad on the Darkcavern site, (seen by Winnipeg Report staff), shows nude photos of Douglas and seeks a "smooth black male or Mexican" to join the couple during a trip to Cancun in February 2002.

The ad specifies that the man is wanted "to seduce her with the intent of getting her enmeshed in the submissive, multi-partner, interracial sex scene." "Husband will help and facilitate," it goes on to say. Over the next few weeks, Chapman said King sent him more pictures of his wife and continued to encourage him to engage in a sexual relationship with her.

Chapman said he was emotionally distraught by the advances and didn't know how to handle his lawyer's persistent proposals. "As a black person, a black guy, I'm really sad that he looked at me as being a sex object."

Alex said he didn't have enough money to switch lawyers and had been warned by a judge not to delay his divorce case any further.

As Chapman's divorce was wrapping up, he said he eventually agreed to meet King and his wife at a Winnipeg restaurant, fearing his lawyer would not properly represent him if he didn't comply. King left Chapman alone with Douglas, and they chatted, according to Chapman's July 14, 2010, complaint to the Manitoba Law Society. In his complaint, Chapman described the meeting as feeling like "a first date."

Chapman said the couple invited him to their home in Birds Hill, northeast of Winnipeg, but he never went and he denies ever having sexual relations with Douglas.

When his divorce concluded, Chapman said he filed a complaint to the managing partners at Thompson Dorfman Sweatman. Soon after the complaint, King left the firm.

Police in the Crosshairs of Local Gangs...

Criminal gangs have, "severely assaulted," off-duty Winnipeg police officers, conducted surveillance on them outside of work, and have even shown up at their family events in brazen attempts at intimidation. Those incidents have ranged from intimidation to property damage to physical violence over the past decade, the Winnipeg Police Service and the Winnipeg Police Association acknowledge, even as they decline to discuss specifics in fear of encouraging more incidents of harassment.

Winnipeg police said they are nonetheless the subject of harassment by organized criminal gangs.

"Some members' homes and vehicles have been the target of arson's. As well, these members have experienced disruptions at family events by members of the Hells Angels motorcycle gang," reads the excerpt from Blair's report.

"This service also reported off-duty members being severely assaulted by gang members, as well as surveillance conducted on uniform and plainclothes officers by organized crime members."

Some of these incidents of harassment have been made public, most notably the burning of a gang-unit officer's home and the attempted firebombing of her house over a three-month period.
In December 2001, the officer's van was set ablaze while it was parked outside her North Kildonan home. In February 2002, a brick was thrown through her front window and gasoline-filled Molotov cocktails were found on her front lawn.

Police have since complained of being followed from the Public Safety Public to their vehicles, among other forms of harassment by gang members. "There have been many issues, all of which are well-documented and some of which are very serious, in addition to the firebombing," said Mike Sutherland, president of the Winnipeg Police Association.

Sutherland said he would like to say more but could not, out of concern for the safety of police employees and their families. Officers are also being assaulted more frequently on the job, he added.

"The assaults have escalated over a period of time. It's always a concern," Police Chief Keith McCaskill said.

In response to officers' concerns about being followed to their vehicles from the Public Safety Building on Princess Street, a secure fence with an electronic pass-key was erected around a nearby Winnipeg Parking Authority surface lot.

So, who is to blame for this mess? Most Manitoban's agree that it is the NDP Party. They refuse Citizens (yes, Police are Citizens) and Property Rights protection in a province with the highest amount of crime in Canada.

The regular resident in Manitoba can no longer protect him/herself from; home invasions, theft, and assault without being arrested for assault themselves. The Federal Government is introducing a Citizens Arrest clause that is to be included in the Charter of Rights .

Presently, if someone breaks into our homes, and harms themselves they can sue the homeowner. Someone that trespasses and harms themselves can sue the property owner. If the property owner attempts to protect themselves and their families, they can face numerous charges. This is completely absurd! It leaves one asking themselves who on earth dreamed these laws up?

The hand of the law has also shown that in Manitoba, crime leading to death, can often go unpunished and without consequence. Judges are allowing those that do the crime, go without doing the time.

This NDP party is 100% responsible for crime towards officers and the public in Manitoba. It is 100% responsible for the high crime rate in Manitoba. This province protects one party only, the criminal. We need change not just to the politicians who reside over our local laws but to the entire criminal code nationally. We also need laws which allow citizens far more personal and property protection. Enough is enough with the thugs having all the rights and the good guys being trapped and defenceless.

Saying hello 2011 doesn't exactly seem like a happy proclamation for Winnipeg. This city has a mayor who was only elected because there truly was no other person to vote for. A stark reminder of the last mayor's race when Sam Katz ran and won with the same circumstances.

We have a football stadium that's been jammed down our throats - that perhaps only 8%of the city actually wants. And, a gigantic money pit known as the Human Rights Museum (originally it was supposed to be a Holocaust Survivors Museum but that was to "race specific" to generate enough capitol to build the thing) sucking back money from the city, province and feds at a rate that would choke a banker. Crime is off the charts. Robberies and home invasions are in the news everyday. So, what can we expect from 2011?

First off, the good news might actually be that I believe more people will start to wake-up as to how badly we are getting screwed both in the 'Peg and in Canada as well. Bus fares are going up, property taxes are going up, the housing market is showing signs of a bubble ready to pop. And, around more and more corners we're seeing speed traps and speed light cameras. The people are getting hit on every level. It is justice that if I go 5 miles over the speed limit there's a cop waiting there (or a camera) ready to nail me or you. But hey, it's a-o-k to rob the people blind like these politicians, broker's and bankers are doing and that's okay. They just get a slap on the wrist. The question will be where will they make up the money these twits need for the stadium and the human rights museum? It will be sucked out of you and I. 2011 will be the year of new fees!

We'll see licensing fees, higher parking fees, hikes in water fees, you name it - they're going to squeeze every dollar out of the people. Canadians are incredibly blind so they won't even see that they're being hit with the same austerity measures that are being placed upon the people of Europe.

What about our dollar? How will it fair to the US dollar, or to Gold & Silver? I predict that the bull is really going to run this year and Gold / Silver will begin to perform like never before. Why? Because both Canada & the US keep the interest rates artificially low, and they are printing money into circulation that isn't backed by anything other than debt. Look for $2,000.00 per ounce gold in 2011.

In the department of crime... expect it to get much worse. Already you may have noticed a rise in Pharmacy heists, restaurant robberies. We never hear about the bank robberies because they're kept out of the news. Yet, the TD bank on Corydon Ave. was recently violently held up! Gee guess it was a busy news day and they had to skip that article. Once the bubble pops in the real estate market and things really hit the fan Crime will go nuclear. All of those yuppies who took out huge 37 year 5% down mortgages on homes sold for $550,000.00 will be in big, big trouble. Especially, after their home value drops 85% and they're stuck with a mortgage for something that's worth pennies on the dollar. We'll begin to see a huge no-money / no-job issue and that will only equal short fuses and more crime.

Expect more complaining when the real estate bubble pops and as the govt. begins to crack down. We'll start to see cyber attacks and world wide cyber crime. And, those who have gone to University can expect a glorious future degree in hand stocking shelves at Wal Mart or re-filling the sugar bowl at Starbucks.

Ahhh, 2011. She sure don't sound like a lovely one to me. Guess we'll wait and see what she brings.

Those dollars in your pocket are a representation that you've given away your power to the central bank. Canada is the most in-debt country in the ENTIRE world. Once the global depression hits Canada we're doomed. These airport security guard rent-a-cop morons will turn into an expanded "City Militia." Then, we won't be allowed outside after 10:00 P.M. curfew. You think it's bad now... just you wait.

Remember, Plan for tomorrow TODAY. Stockpile wood/food/water/canned goods, buy a gun, and make sure you have property you can get to if necessary in the woods with a good drinking water (well). Make sure you can survive for a long, long time if you need to.

Convicted Pedophile Released onto Winnipeg Streets

A convicted sexual offender was released from a psychiatric facility in Saskatoon on Nov. 26th, 2010 and has moved to Winnipeg.

The Winnipeg Police Service and the RCMP are issuing a community alert about John Eugene Kakegamic, 45, who is believed to be a high risk to become involved in further sexual offenses with children.

Police said Kakegamic has a history of sexual offenses in relation to children, including aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault, sexual assault with a weapon, forcible confinement and invitation to sexual touching.

Police said Kakegamic participated in some sex offender treatment programs but he is still considered a high risk to re-offend.

Young children, both boys and girls, are at risk of sexual violence.

Selinger Blows November 2010 Throne Speech...

By week’s end, Selinger — whose government is $565 million in the hole with no prospect of climbing out of the debt in the foreseeable future, totally blew it on his throne speech!

Selinger smoked it early in the week after the fallout from a series of idiodic NDP attack ads against their Tory opponents. The ads alleged all kinds of twisted and wacky things, from the Tories wanting more urine in Manitoba’s rivers and lakes to the strange accusation McFadyen still supports the urban myth his party “fired 1,000 nurses” in the early 1990s. Which they did not do!

Selinger's side-show Blue Bomber Football Stadium debacle took another turn for the worse in November. David Asper's Creswin Properties fed the public lie after lie about how his "too good to be true" stadium deal was to proceed. In the end, it was all hog-wash. Asper likes to swing a heavy hand, however his bull has certainly run it's course. After running a highly distorted campaign for his incredible stadium deal - now we see his true colours - lies, lies and more lies.

Now Selinger wants the taxpayers to foot the bill for most of the project. This is absurd! We don't need a stadium. We're broke! This is like someone who's applying for bankruptcy buying a Rolls Royce. It's beyond nuts. But then it's become obvious that Selinger as well as David Asper are both self-serving and disingenuous morons. Their dog and pony show stadium deal's cost over-runs of the project skyrocketed through only a matter of months. As well, Asper's mighty promise of tens of millions in private investment by Creswin Properties appears to have dried up, or was never there in the first place. We tend to place more faith in the latter.

This province is like the Roach Motel, things just keep getting worse and worse with twits like these two trying to run the show. Bottom line is we don't need a stadium. Patch up the existing one and get health care in order and start paying down the debt. Politically, Selinger has handled the stadium file as poorly as any politician could, insisting one day that taxpayers would be shielded from cost-overruns and the next that the stadium had suddenly become a public works project. WTF?

Worse, Selinger was unable to provide any detail whatsoever of how much this white elephant would eventually cost, who would pay for it and whether there was any private money going into it at all.

The province was once talking about a deal that would have seen Asper invest well over $100 million of his own money into the stadium. Selinger is now having to explain to taxpayers why they may have to compensate Asper for the few million he’s put into the project so far.

All of this doesn’t give Manitoba voters much faith in Selinger’s ability to run a province from what we've seen so far. Nor do abstract promises like the one in last week’s throne speech that every Manitoban would have access to a family physician by 2015. Give me a break Selinger. You want to toss $200 Million at building a stupid football stadium. Get real. Put $20 Million of that into fixing up the old one and chuck the balance at health care so we can at least put a dent in our health care woes in Manitoba.

Selinger may as well have promised Manitobans that he will balance Manitoba's books in a couple of weeks... Or, perhaps he will lead Manitoba in sending a rocket to build a base on the moon! That would have been more believable than the rubbish he spewed during his throne speech.

Selinger is a total liar and a total farce for a Premier. Greg Selinger, I formerly request you resign your post and walk away from politics. Go back to your old job of being a social work teacher. You are NOT a political leader. Not in any sense of the word.

Winnipeg Elects Sam Katz for Third Term...

Sammy Boy Slim won his 3rd and last term as Mayor of Winnipeg on October 28, 2010. It was certainly no real surprise either. Sammy had his Police & Fire Dept. pals standing behind him. And, his platform was built upon the hiring of 58 new cops.

Judy W. had no real plan for the city, at least nothing for anyone to truly stand behind and say, "Yeah, that is solid, I'm with her." Judy's campaign was based on honesty and creating change at city hall. She failed at explaining specifically what those two platforms actually meant however. It's one thing to say you're into being honest and you want to create positive change, but seriously - talk about empty philosophies. Especially when Winnipeg is a city with a National Crime rate that rivals... well no place else. Judy came out for what she really was, a career politician with zero ideas and a mountain of scripted lines that say practically nothing.

SAM WANTS MORE NDP TAX REVENUES FOR the 'PEG:
Good on Sammy for shooting one off at Selinger during his victory speech! The NDP have been shoving buckets of cash at poorly run programs aimed at; saving the poor, helping ex-cons, and aiding the criminal at getting plenty of "Get Outta Jail Free," cards. The NDP have wasted so much money on their idiodic, "Hug a Thug," approach even Sam is sick of seeing the waste.

Sam aimed at coming across as the "Crime & Safety" candidate. With the Police union backing him, he better come through on this. After last weekend's triple shooting - double homicide (with still No Leads), Sam needs to do some crime smashing - big time!

Still, there's not much a Mayor can really do. The crime problem escalating to record proportions is clearly on the shoulder's of the NDP's Hug a Thug policies with crime. We need a government in this Province and nation that has a zero tolorence with the massive gang problem. Whether that will happen anytime soon still waits to be seen. One thing is for sure. They'll be more shootings, killings, stabbings and death on the streets of Winnipeg. Mr. Same 'ol Sammy for Mayor and the NDP twit machine sure ain't going to make any dent in the gang problem.

Vic Toews is the latest recipient of one of those bogus degrees handed out to a long list of morons. The University of Winnipeg is likely sucking up to the Feds for some more money and Toews does control the purse strings for this province! Why not a free degree to stroke the fire.

Lowlife Vic Toews (who was born in Paraguay) is a twisted liar and a cheat. What has Toews done to deserve an honorary degree? How about, cheating on his wife and fathering a child in 2007 with a much younger woman. How about getting convicted of exceeding his personal campaign expense limits in the 1999 Manitoba provincial election. How about having zero family values, being a sleazy hypocrite who thinks gay people should be punished by hate crimes and that gay marriage is akin to a Black Mass! Uhhh, yeah, let's give this guy an Honorary U of W Law Degree. (WTF?).

Erin Larson delivered the valedictory address and criticized the university's decision to award MP Vic Toews an honorary degree. She made a lot of sense. Larson charges that Toews did not deserve the honour because of what she alleges are his political positions against “tolerance, compassion and respect for human rights.”

Larson has come under heavy fire from Lloyd Axworthy. U of W head Axworthy (another old, tired, and conservative fart) said, "Toews’ nomination was unanimously accepted by a U of W committee made up of faculty, staff and students, and by the university’s senate."

Uhhhh... Yeah sure, of course, now translated that really means... "We Need Money - Please let us Cow-toe to You Mr. Toews."

What do you think, did Towes have a right to get the honorary doctor of laws degree?

Transportation Engineer Say's Bike Lanes Don't Work

Dave Elmore of Bike to the Future would have Winnipeger's believe that building cycling paths will engage people to opt for bicycles as a mode of transportation and keep cyclists safer. He even goes so far as to say that this is a "Proven" fact! He said this live on CBC radio 990 on Oct. 07, 2010. This idea, and his statement are completely false. No Bike Path initiative in 40 years in any country in the industrialized world has ever done this.

Bike to the Future are nothing more than a minority group banded together to form a Bike Activists club who have successfully promoted to waste Millions of tax payer dollars with completely ineffective "Active Transportation" construction in our city.

John Forester, M.S., P.E. Cycling Transportation Engineer Consulting Engineer, Expert Witness & Educator in Effective Cycling, Bicycles and Highways knows bike paths and active transport well... Probably better than anyone else in the world. From his office in Southern California he conducted an interview with CBC's Terry McCloud on Oct. 07, 2010... here is what he had to say;

1). No city has any need for a network of bike paths or bike routes. These construction projects have been proven time and time again to be a complete waste of time & money.

2). In 40+ years of testing bike routes the conclusion is that they have never had the effect they were intended to produce. This is true for every city in every part of the world.

3). Bike routes do not make cyclists safe. Only cyclists learning how to drive safe, will be safe.

4). Bike routes tend to give cyclists a false sense of security. They feel and think they are safer in their lanes, however this has been proven as false time & time again.

5). In 40+ years on conducting studies, not a single bike activist group has been able to demonstrate in any case how bike paths have ever kept a cyclist safer.

6). Bike lanes & routes have had the opposite effect of what they were intended to produce. They have instead created more unpredictable reactions from cyclists and motorists - instead of safer riding, the ride for cyclists has become more dangerous with bike routes.

7). With or without bike routes, cyclists are proven to delay cars and traffic. Bike lanes painted onto streets have also created groups of cycle vigilantes or "Scofflaw Cyclists," as John Forester calls them. These cyclists take dangerous risks that endanger not only themselves but pedestrians and motorists as well.

8). Bike routes cause traffic patterns, and car/bike collisions to increase! Especially at turning and crossing left-turn intersections. The bike routes give cyclists a false identity on the road. The bike lanes confuse drivers and pedestrians as to what the cyclist should be doing.

Only a comprehensive bike safety program can work to keep cyclists safe. If Dave Elmore wants to do his bike riding friends any true service, he should establish a proper cycling training program for riders. Not, lobbying the city for more and more useless bike routes that do NOT get people on bikes, or promote cycling. Rather, the routes endanger all citizens of any city they have ever been installed in.

In conclusion, John Forester did mention that in his 40 plus years of being involved in Cycling Transportation he can say that along with comprehensive bike training programs, the only proven safety method for keeping cyclists safer on city streets is by the installation of more left turn signals on intersections. As for the concept that bike routes make cyclists safe and make people cycle more... According to John Forester - Completely unfounded!

Cyclists Getting Swiped...

Massive public disapproval of the permanent changes to the streets, parking and traffic flow in the Downtown, St. James and River Heights neighbourhoods has anger being transferred from Citizens to cyclists.

Bike riders are being yelled at, spit upon, and swiped by drivers mirrors. No democratic route to the residents of these areas were applied by city officials to explain the permanent year-round changes that were made this summer. Residents are fuming over the loss of street use and parking.

Harrow St. was hit the hardest with a massive loss of public parking down the route from Academy to Pembina Hwy. The huge loss of parking has impacted over 1000 residents along the route.

The Katz administration did not consult any area residents directly. Recently River Heights residents (interviewed by CBC) stated they knew NOTHING of the bike routes, loss of parking, and traffic calming circles. Residents interviewed along Harrow St. also said they felt there was absolutely no democracy in the permanent changes made to their street's parking.

Police are effectively staying out of this. They would not answer questions regarding attempted strikes profiling bike riders. A statement saying drivers caught acting unlawful could face consequences.

Unfortunately, the local media has focused the latest news reports on the views exclusively from the vantage point of the cyclists. Residents from St. James, Assiniboine Ave., and River Heights have been shut out of news coverage.

Winnipeg Citizens FURIOUS About Bike Paths...

A half-baked bike path initiative by the City of Winnipeg has left a number of citizens fuming about blocked off streets, dozens of new residential no parking zones and a flurry of traffic, "calming circles."

Sam Katz ordered the city planners and consultants to put together an Active Transportation system for the city. This plan took advantage of millions of dollars of federal grant money, ($20.4 million). Was it a make-work project for a select few in the construction business connected to city hall?

Was it worth the effort... Going out and spending millions of dollars to; paint lines on miles and miles of roads, block off lanes, streets and access to several thoroughfares and install hundreds of "Bike Path" signs around the city. All to cater to a small group of people who like to ride their bikes to and from work for 4-5 months out of the year. (Q: how many cyclists make up Winnipeg's 650,000 citizens?).

Another question... Are the same consulting companies involved again and again, and who is the person awarding the tenders to these companies...?

And the person is who is supposed to oversee all of this... that would be Mr. Kevin Nixon. It has been said, Councillor Harvey Smith called for Nixon to be fired - immediately. It didn't happen. Did Nixon know about several complaints from businesses and citizens early on, did he choose to dismiss them? The projects had to go through, the money was promised.

This is more than the inconvenience of summer 2010 construction. The city is completely & permanently changing the streets, parking and traffic flow in the neighbourhoods, (which strongly affects the citizens who live and work in those areas), all for who exactly? A very small group of cyclists. Many of whome, in the end, won't use the designated paths on a daily basis. Some paths are simply too out of the way for many who commute by bike.

And, what about those who deliver goods and services, and those who transport the elderly, the disabled, school kids etc.? We have agencies who serve these citizens complaining loudly about the danger of these bike path projects. When completed, will these projects be for the greater benefit of the city of Winnipeg?

Most Winnipegers say, NO. Especially those directly affected by the bicycle path installation projects.

The idoiots in the Liberal-Bloc Quebecois-NDP coalition are one step closer to derailing Candice Hoeppner’s bill to end the wasteful and ineffective long-gun registry.
In June 2010 the Opposition-dominated committee passed a motion to report to the House of Commons that the Public Safety committee “does not proceed further with Bill C-391.”

“Mr. Holland’s actions on behalf of the Liberal party and their coalition partners clearly demonstrate that there is no willingness to compromise or work together,” MP Hoeppner said. “If the Opposition truly believed in compromise, they would stop these blatant attempts to derail Bill C-391, back down from their threats to whip the vote, and allow their Members to vote freely at third reading to represent their constituents.”

“Twelve NDP and eight Liberal Members of Parliament supported my bill at second reading. The question remains – what will those MPs do when it once again comes time to vote on this in the House?” Hoeppner continued. “Will they tow the party line and vote to keep the registry, or do the right thing, listen to their constituents, and vote to scrap the registry?”

Hoeppner stressed that there is little evidence to demonstrate that the long-gun registry has fulfilled its mandate, and that a number of front-line police officers as well as four provincial and territorial Attorneys General and Ministers of Justice have publicly supported Bill C-391.

“It’s high time to look for other answers and put government resources into building a system that targets offenders and not law-abiding firearm owners like farmers and outdoors enthusiasts,” Hoeppner concluded.

If the motion in the House of Commons is successful, the Liberal-led Opposition coalition will have succeeded in stopping Hoeppner’s bill to finally end the long-gun registry.

14 Year Old Winnipeg Girl Assulted

A 14-year-old female walking in West Kildonan early Friday evening July 23rd, 2010 was forced into a white van and seriously sexually assaulted, Winnipeg police say.

The sexual assault took place at about 8:30 p.m. in the area of Scotia Street and Jefferson Avenue.

The van is described as a white "Sprinter" panel van with no rear windows.

The suspects are described as a Caucasian male, 25-years-old, 6-foot 2" tall with a muscular build, and a balding hairline. He also had a long beard. He was wearing a white T-shirt, blue jeans and a black baseball cap with a long peak.

The second suspect is a black male in his 20's, with short hair and wearing all black clothing.

This investigation is continuing by members of the Sex Crimes Unit and anyone with information regarding this incident or the suspects is asked to contact investigators at 986-6245 or CrimeStoppers at 786-TIPS (8477).

NDP Government is Destroying Manitoba

Manitoban's are in a grave time of crisis. The NDP have us on the path to complete failure if we don't get them out of power. Take your pick from the many blunders they've purpetrated over the years...

• Massive waste on the new hydro line.
• Changing the rainy day fund to suit their own agenda.
• Increased fees, licensing costs and hidden costs lining NDP pockets.
• $14 billion deficit - and rising.
• Massive Increase in Crime.
• Killing any hope of prosperity in this province.
• Rewriting the legislation so that cabinet ministers avoid 40% pay cut.
• Increasing the saleries of high-paid directors and bureaucrats.

Whatever party wins the next election will be trapped in a bottomless hole dug by the NDP, unable to do anything but look bad. The NDP have favored the pencil pushers who justify their existence in statistics, smoke and mirrors. The next government in power will be forced to;

• Lay off thousands of employees.
• Loose a lot of tax base money.
• Issue austarity = a loss of spending / buying power for families.
• Raise taxes !
• Cut spending, services , passing the buck down to the Civic Level.

What will that accomplish? It will accomplish a haterd of that party in power, and might even cause voters to make the grave mistake of voting the NDP back into power at a later date!

Todays NDP, steady as she goes... right into the rocks. For reasons that can only be equated to ignorance, Manitobans kept voting these NDP hacks into power and this is what happens. Wowchuk and Selinger are in the wheelhouse now, reneging their agreements with the owners and the biggest rat of all - Gary Doer, has long since abandoned the sinking ship.

Execution Style Slaying on Main St.

On Sunday July 04, 2010 an innocent unarmed man died after he was shot execution style with a shotgun by a crazed psychopath at a Main St. Winnipeg bus stop just after 2 p.m. The murder victim was a known acquaintance to the gun toting murderer.

The murderer has been taken into custody by police following the incident (which took place on Main Street at Euclid Avenue). Shattered glass surrounds the outside of the bus stop on Main at Euclid. One witness who did not want his last name used, said he saw police officers and a citizen chase the suspect and catch him.

The following streets were closed during the police investigation: southbound Main Street between Euclid and Stella avenues and northbound Main between Selkirk and Stella avenues.

The Winnipeg Police Service criminal investigation bureau is still investigating.

ABOLISH THE GUN REGISTRY AND BRING IN CONCEALED CARRY!

Albert Einstein perhaps said it best...."The prestige of government has undoubtedly been lowered considerably by Prohibition laws. For nothing is more destructive of respect for the government and the law of the land than passing laws which cannot be enforced. It is an open secret that the dangerous increase of crime in this country is closely connected with this."

How many more; shootings, muggings, beatings, car thefts, home invasions, stabbings and murders will there be before we get serious about crime by allowing citizens to carry weapons to defend themselves against thugs. How much more senseless violence need there be until Winnipeg enacts a law to use deadly force to stop thugs.

Society Safer when criminals don't know who is armed.

Bring in Concealed Carry for Winnipeg citizens and watch crime drop like a brick off the Richardson Building. And for all you Liberal folks, consider this... explain to me why, if criminals are allow to carry into a bank to rob/kill , why it illegal for us to stay alive? If you were in a bank that's being robbed, you're already in danger. A stranger (who is licenced to Concealed Carry) pulling out a weapon and putting the robber at gunpoint until the police arrive is the only thing keeping the situation under control. And, it is simply the best situation all around to begin taking a REAL bite outta crime. Liberal & NDP "Feel Good" legislation sure isn't!

Banks (and now Pharmacies too) in Winnipeg are being robbed weekly. Not to mention the surge in Home Invasions. We need citizens who are armed and licenced to carry on the street - it is the ONLY way to begin slowing the wrath of crime in Winnipeg.

It's not a matter of there being more shootings and robberies. It's a matter that just because you are a law abiding citizen and opt not to carry a weapon into banks or pharmacies - that doesn't mean other people (the bad guys) won't. Bad guys will carry guns more and more as things get worse in our society. Gun free zones, Gun Registries, and Gun Ban's are bogus. They do nothing more than create a false sense of security. The concern all Winnipeg citizens have nowadays is what if I'm defenseless in these situations.

Scrap gun restrictions and fight for the right to keep yourself safe. Fight for Concealed Carry in Winnipeg!

Today, Liberal MP Anita Neville "Junk Mailed" her riding of Winnipeg's South Center with a boat-load of mis-information and pure Liberal nonsense. The junk mailing was all about... you guessed it - the Gun Registry.

Undoubtedly one of the most pathetic and useless wastes of time and money this country has ever seen. The Liberal nonsense known as the Gun Registry was, from it's inception, nothing more than a way to pander to a small number of special interest groups. The Liberals decided to give special attention to these groups with high hopes of gaining the voters support. In none of the crimes associated with guns since the inception of the registry, has there been anything beneficial that has aided law enforcement.

This useless pretense of a registry policy has given no purpose to help lower gun crime. The Gun Registry is nothing more than cosmetic registration, designed to make people, "feel good." This registry does not deal with the root problems that face Winnipeg or any other Canadian city for that matter. The problem is; Gangs, Inner-City Crime, and THEIR guns. Not, the average citizen and their guns. The guns of the good, honest Canadians are 99.9% used for hunting and controlling the issues of rodents on their private properties - the other 0.01% is simply home defence from the aforementioned criminal problems.

The Liberals choice of throwing up a National Gun Registry as an answer to the real issues that face all Canadians is a 100% FAKE response. It has done nothing more than allow a handful of special interest groups and politicians to have time posing in front of the cameras. It gives a vague promise that gun problems and gun violence are being addressed. Well, they are NOT. And, unfortunately it has cost Canadians over 2 Billion Dollars to find this out!

It certainly doesn't take a genius to know that Gun problems in Winnipeg are not, and NEVER have been, a licensing & registration dilemma. They are not a border, or smuggling problem, and they are not a problem of the gun manufacturers. Gun problems are the problems of GANGS and those wrapped up in the Thug-Life PERIOD.

This idiotic Gun Registry has been absolutely useless in assisting Police in finding those responsible for terror and murder on City streets. The rising problem of gun violence on City streets is a crystal clear example of how the evasion from the real problems with feel good legislation sends a price to the streets that is without a doubt higher than the 2+ Billion of this pathetic gun registry.

Contrary to Ms. Neville's claims in her mailing today, any Police officer will say without a doubt that the Gun Registry serves little to no purpose in actual police work. In reality it actually undermines the very things it was supposed to support. #1). Why should Police ever rely on any kind of registry to determine if there are firearms in a home? Police would always enter situations assuming the worst, and never relying on any information sitting in a computer data-bank. #2). The error rate of the Gun registry is very high and cannot be trusted in over 90% of Police situations. #3). Canadian Police data-banks already list stolen guns, they do not require the Registry for that particular element. #4). Criminals don't respect laws. They won't be registering their guns! #5). the Registry has never saved a life, or helped to stop gun trafficking.

In short, the Gun Registry is a paper exercise that provides little tangible benefit. In Ms. Neville's Mailing she states the registry is accessed 11,000 times per day. Okay, Wait a minute... first it was 2,000, then 5,000 then 6,500, and now it's 11,000 times a day! If you want the truth on the real numbers, grab any copy of the Access to Information. The Gun Registry is always accessed because the system is automated to do it! NOT because any Police officer wants the information from the registry. For example; if you get pulled over for any common traffic offence - as soon as the officer runs your drivers license it counts as a, "Hit," on the gun registry. Not only that, every time any officer accesses information from the Police records system on a person THAT counts as a Hit on the system as well.

Candice Hoeppner has entered a private members bill to scrap the Gun Registry. PLEASE show her your support and get rid of this horrible waste of taxpayer money. In 2009, the Gun Registry cost Canadians over $71 Million. It does not have the support of people from all across Canada who have criticized the registry and supported her bill, including police officers, conservation officers, academics, lawyers, doctors, provincial Attorneys General and everyday Canadians. In their opinion, and in mine, it’s time to end the wasteful and ineffective gun registry and put more emphasis on policing of firearms.

Crime and Canada's Gun Control Laws...

In Canada, our Government has completely taken away our right to protect ourselves. Criminals, in-turn have obviously taken over. No honest citizen is allowed to own/carry a gun. We also aren't allowed to protect our home with a gun. If we shot a criminal who was smashing in our front door, we would go to court and then to jail. The criminal would likely walk free. It is absolutely, COMPLETELY crazy. Nearly every home on my Winnipeg street has been broken into, I've lived through a home invasion myself.

PUBLIC SAFETY... translation... illusion, deception. The road to hell is paved with good intentions. Gun control was never a, "good intention," being based on a complete denial of reality, and fact.

WHAT is bizarre, is that they strove to put the gun laws in the criminal code, (come hell or high water), but suggest that the 'federal offense' of [posession of an unregistered firearm] be a 'ticketable' not 'criminal' charge. Obviously, Lib-tards cannot be trusted! Remember that they said that we were being "silly" for suggesting that confiscation was the true agenda... well, we were right, no one is accountable. LIES LIES LIES. They lied about the RCMP gun/crime stats to parliament, and to the public. They still lie about compliance stats. They lie about how many guns there are, and how many owners. They lie about the cost overruns, and reward the incopetance of the CFC data handlers, contractors, and software providers!

It is just like looking into an open sewer... same sh!t, different day. WHY wont any of the Conservatives or media just report the truth? The gun control program is a complete failure. It does not meet the measure of good governance, in that Canadian people do not support it. Period. Accoring to their registry there may be 5 or 7 or 11 million gun owners in Canada. Well, which is it? Either way, the majority still have not complied. I'ts like the Lib-tards just cant stop whipping the dead horse. If guns and gunowners were nearly as frighteningly dangerous as they love to imply, they would have been shot long ago for their assault on; rights, freedom, and common sense.

Rank and file police officers DO NOT favor the registry and know, as most thinking people do, that it is useless. We see many retired police officers against the registry. The PEOPLE of Canada have clearly spoken their decision, despite threats, intimidation, criminalization... the majority still have not complied. They remain unlicensed and unregistered. This STUPID law is bad governance, it has not the support of the people, and it is of no force, or effect. Making people register guns, and disarming the honest Canadian citizen, does NOT put a dent in crime. It's effect is the reverse... it empowers criminals in knowing they can rob, rape and hurt us even easier. After all, we've been disarmed by our leaders. We are sitting Ducks!

Ask any criminal how easily they can get a gun, and they will likely say the exact same thing; "pass me the phone, $50 Bucks, and I'll have ya a gun in about 20 min."

Police shot and killed an ex-con drug dealer/gang member/car thief in the city's West Broadway neighbourhood on Sunday morning.

Officers were called to the area just before 9 a.m. after receiving a report of a home invasion in progress in the 100-block of Langside Street.

After police arrived at the scene a confrontation ensued between officers and a man in a back lane near the intersection of Langside Street and Sara Avenue, just north of the attempted break-in, police said.

Police shot the suspect during the confrontation. He was transported to hospital in critical condition but later died.

"The details regarding that confrontation are not available at this point," said Const. Jason Michalyshen, a spokesman for the Winnipeg Police Service. "Officers made contact with this male and as a result a firearm discharge took place."

Police have identified the man killed as Lance Trevor Muir, 42.
Muir had previously served a 10-year prison sentence for attempted murder with a firearm and drug trafficking. His parole was revoked in March 2004 when a Canada-wide warrant was issued for his arrest on a parole violation. Police said Muir was a wanted man on the run and had past associations with various gangs. He was considered armed and extremely dangerous.

People who live near the shooting scene said they heard the sound of a crashing car and then saw uniformed police running to the back lane area just east of Langside and Sara. A black Cadillac sedan with what appeared to be several bullet holes in it remained at the scene Sunday afternoon, where it had apparently slammed into a Hydro pole and garbage bins behind several apartment blocks.

Police offered no details as to the nature of the confrontation and did not say if the suspect was armed. They also would not say how the Cadillac was connected to the shooting. CTV news learned through Muir's roommate that he had stolen the car a few weeks before.

A large area remained sealed off to pedestrian and vehicle traffic as the police examined the scene. Officers remained on scene all day Sunday. The WPS homicide unit is investigating the incident, which is standard procedure in any officer-involved shooting. The officers involved have been placed on paid administrative leave and will undergo a mandatory incident debriefing. Counselling is available to them.

Home Invasion in Winnipeg's St. James Area...

Police have released descriptions of two men involved in a home invasion on Friday March 26, 2010 in Winnipeg's St. James neighborhood.

At around 3:00 am on Friday Mar. 26th police attended to a home in the 700 block of School Road after two women reported being confronted by two unknown men who entered their home and threatened them. The men were armed with knives. They demanded money and electronics they then fled on foot.

It is believed that these men also broke into a garage as well as vehicles in the area.

The suspects are described as:

- Aboriginal in appearance
- in their early twenties.
- One man was about 6 feet tall and thin, with a narrow face, dark hair and wearing a blue baseball hat, a dark-coloured and patterned hooded sweatshirt and dark pants.

- The other man was shorter with a slightly heavier build, also with dark hair, wearing a baseball hat and dark clothing.

Investigators are asking that anyone with any information to call Crimestoppers at 786-8477.

A 29 year old woman living in the house was treated for minor injuries. The other resident, a 32 year old woman, was not harmed.

Province Says NO/YES, to Cadet Patrol Force...

A initial patrol force of 50 Police Cadets was to be launched this summer to help the main force in our city with patrol and back-up in a host of situations. An additional 150 cadets were to be added over the next year... Sounds like a GREAT idea... errr wait, the Justice Minister Andrew Swan just said NO to this last week! Shouldn't he be saying NO to crime and YES to fighting it tooth & nail...?

WHAT is going on here? Let me try and get this straight... according to Swan, first he came out with his stance on getting a Police helicopter (to aide the Police force in crime fighting) he said it was a bad idea - too expensive. And, NOW... helping the Police force with 50 additional cadets to help the primary force fight crime - and keep the city safer this summer - is another bad idea!

Who are these crazy-ass Mo-Fo's in the Provincial Govt? Seriously, maybe we should just shut down the Police force? Let's perhaps give the criminals & street gangs a big hot-dog lunch and maybe even a huge party to say - "Here's Winnipeg Guy's, just go right ahead and rape, kill and terrorize the whole frickin' place... it's A.O.K. according to the Justice Minister."

McCaskill and staff have already chosen uniforms and devised the entire training system. This was because the deal was laid out with Greg Selinger and Dave Chomiak (when he was Justice Minister), however he has moved on. BUT, Nonetheless, the agreement was made, (Geeze - don't they keep records of these things)?

Yesterday a Winnipeg Transit driver was assaulted, but luckily a Winnipeg City Police officer was on the bus to stop the assault, arrest the scumbag, and call for back-up to get the jerk into a jail cell where he belongs.

It is becoming clear that Winnipeg needs more patrols on the street - this means either more officers, or a public protection force like the world-wide & well established NYC based Guardian Angels.

In NYC, tough anti-gang legislation helped; law enforcement, prosecutors and organizations such as the Guardian Angels eliminate gang-related activity and keep New York state’s neighborhoods safe from these types of crimes. Winnipeg desperately needs something like this.

First, most obviously we NEED tough anti-gang legislation. Criminals are literally getting away with everything in this town! Right now in Winnipeg, in many of our bus shelters, Winnipeg families are subjected to; drug crazed bums, gang-bangers, and street people/alcoholics sleeping and falling over onto the benches, or onto the ground. Or, they're arguing & using obscenities, (especially the idiot gang-bangers). The shelters also stink of beer and urine because no-one is patrolling our streets to watch over our good citizens.

At one time, the city enforced a vagrancy law, which kept the streets clean for Winnipeg residents who work hard and pay their city taxes to shop and travel safely with their families. In the 1980's some morons decided to scrap the vagrancy laws, (WTF?). Politicians were convinced by a small group of liberal do-gooders into pouring millions of tax dollars into utterly useless and very expensive social agencies, (that as of present day - we can see has only made the problems of our entire city worse)!

We NEED patrols on the streets to make them safe. Not slack social programs for AFTER citizens are hurt, or our properties are damaged. All City counselors, should spend a couple of hours visiting the bus shelters along Portage and Graham. Then, they should go have a coffee in Portage Place Mall. (Funny they never drop by there.) Then they'd realize a simple fact... Downtown is a mess and has been taken over by the scumbags!

We NEED something in place to take our city back. Maybe the Angels are the answer... The Guardian Angels are a non-profit, all-volunteer crime-fighting organization that started in 1979 with 13 members patrolling New York City streets. The group has grown to include 25 chapters throughout the U.S., Canada, Europe, Japan and Brazil. Known for their familiar red beret, the Guardian Angels offer many programs to help combat neighborhood crime and educate teenagers on the dangers that lurk in cyberspace. In 1997 the Winnipeg council and Winnipeg Police denied the Guardian Angels permission to set-up a chapter in Winnipeg. If council and Wpg. Police don't step-up to the plate and establish patrols in this town, we should re-visit the offer of the Guardian Angels to set-up a Winnipeg Chapter. The Angels are already in; Toronto, Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, Halifax and they are currently setting up a chapter in Red Deer.

Winnipeg police had an area of Colony Street and Portage Avenue taped off in the afternoon investigating another incident of assault with a machete. Police were on scene for about 3 hours, between 2:15pm and 5:15pm.

One man is in hospital with non-life threatening injuries as a result of the incident, his overall condition is unknown. An eyewitness made a false statement the day of the incident telling media and police that at 2:00 P.M. on the West side of Colony Square Apartment Complex the suspect approached an unarmed man. The man was then brutally attacked for no apparent reason as he stood waiting for the bus with a woman and children on Good St. (south of Portage Avenue).

The truth was actually this...
Just before 2:15 p.m. on Saturday, a 21-year-old man began "aggressively" kicking and banging on the front door of a home in the 300 block of Good Street in the West Broadway neighbourhood, police said.

Thinking that the man was about to break into his house, the home's owner, a 30-year-old man, armed himself with a machete and went outside to warn him away.

Despite the homeowner's repeated demands to leave, the younger man advanced toward him, according to spokesman Police Const. Robert Carver.

The homeowner then allegedly hit the man in the arm with the machete, police said.

The lying woman was no doubt the scumbag's accomplice. The truth finally came out on Sunday March 14th. But, the saddest piece of this terrible tale of attempted break and enter gone wrong is that the homeowner might be charged in defending his property. YES, you heard me correctly! The poor sap defending his home might be charged!

Okay, now just wait a minuet... what the idot's over at the Crown are truly saying here is; the homeowner should be charged...this country can't have people running around trying to protect their homes and/or families...

WOW! Unreal. I guess the fine folks in Winnipeg should really just wait until we actually get shot, raped or beaten near death before we should lift a finger to the thugs, and scum out there doing these crimes. WINNIPEG — A joint RCMP and Winnipeg police sex offender unit was warning all women that a man with a history of serious sexual assaults didn’t return to the community correctional centre he was ordered to live.

The Manitoba Integrated High Risk Sex Offender Unit was asking the public for help in finding Christopher Eddyn Murdock.

Murdock, who has been convicted of multiple serious sexual assaults, had been ordered to lived at a community correctional centre as part of his long term supervision order. (WTF?)

But today the unit says Murdock, who is considered at High Risk to re-offend both sexually and violently, was at large after failing to return to the centre.

The unit says All Women Were at Risk because Murdock is considered an untreated sex offender.

The unit captured Murdock March 10, 2010 after the RCMP were tipped off to his location where he was hiding out at Fisher Creek Cree Nation.

Crazed Attacker with Machete Killed by Police

Just after 10 pm on Saturday Mar. 6th, 2010... A madman, armed with a baseball bat and a machete was part of a group that attacked/assaulted people at an address on the 600 block of Home Street. He was shot and killed by police roughly 30 min. later.

WINNIPEG POLICE:
"We are confirming it was an officer-related shooting," Const. Jacqueline Chaput said Sunday morning. She said the man, whose identity has been released as, 28 year old Eric Daniel, (a street gang member well known to the Winnipeg Police), was taken to hospital in critical condition where he succumbed to his injuries. Prior to the shooting, Eric Daniels was swinging the machete violently at people on Sargent Ave. as well as at passing cars. Witnesses said he was a crazed madman in the street looking to kill.

WITNESS' REPORT:
"There was one gunshot, a pause and then boom, boom, boom," said Tammy, who heard the shooting.

Tammy said when she and her fiancé looked out their second-storey window, they saw a body lying in the middle of Sargent Avenue near Arlington Street, right beside the hood of a police car. The police car was parked diagonally in the middle of the street, she added.

The body and police car were directly in front of the Flying Pizza restaurant. Across the street is, The Club nightclub.

Well, here we go... another Winnipeg shooting. One less scumbag on the streets today. But, the bleeding hearts will be screaming at the top of their lungs about this. They'll be saying that the police really should have just hugged him, held his hand and given him a ride home with a hot cup of tea and a cream cheese begal!

What about if he would have lived? Incarceration costs the tax payer a huge amount, but what makes it all worse is all of the fringe benefits these low lifes get once they are in jail. Winnipeg Criminals not Scared of Consequences...

On March 5th, 2010 Paramedics transported a woman by ambulance after she was badly assaulted about 5:15 a.m. in the 500 block of Toronto Street.

The woman was rushed to hospital in critical condition after the random assault just west of Winnipeg's downtown Friday morning.

The suspect fled the scene but was located and arrested a short while later on McGee Street, about three blocks away.

We are all seeing what is happening - the big picture here is criminals are not concerned of any consequences because they know that even a murder conviction is only a few years in prison.

And, prison... well, what else can I say except; What a Joke! Prison is just simply free room & board (a pleasure compared to being homeless or living in Winnipeg's slums). Scumbags can even get a FREE university education in prison, which in today's society is mostly unaffordable to young Canadians. This is totally absurd! Even with a university education, with their criminal record - no business will EVER hire them! It's all such a total JOKE! Add to that the big screen TV's with cable/satellite, the fancy weight rooms, excellent healthy food services, the ability to use computers, cell. phones, blackberrys, etc... it all makes absolutely no sense.

Criminals should live without... No TV's, no weight rooms, no cell. phones, and they should be fed horrible food! There is nothing wrong with a per day diet of; 2 glasses of water, 1 glass of milk, toast/bread, cereal, pasta, and potatoes per day. With 3 servings of meat every week for some protein. Feed them the same diet day in day out. With minimal exercise - and you'll see criminals leaving prison as 98 pound weaklings, instead of bulked up musclemen in better shape than most city police officers.

Criminals are not even called "Convicts" anymore because it was determined the term might be kind of offensive. The term pushed upon the Justice system by all those bleeding heart Liberals is "offender" (how sweet). This is the one lasting legacy that the NDP government have succeeded in shaping Manitoba. The NDP have been so soft on crime that criminals truly believe that when they; beat, stab and wreck our city it's really not even their fault!

The MLAs do nothing, let's face it. All they are concerned about is getting re-elected. That's it. Thanks to them, Winnipeg is a violent crime-plagued cesspool. Lap Dance Video Goes Viral on YouTube...

Over the weekend millions of people all over the world watched Winnipeg high school teachers, Adeil Ahmed and Chrystie Fitchner's lap dance video. It was picked up by every major news network and Howard Stern even mentioned it on his trash talk satellite radio show.

Yet reading comments on our YouTube channel post of the video, we saw large numbers of people defending them and suggesting they only get a slap on the wrist. Example, "It was only a slight lack of judgement - come on, leave them alone."

Well, I have have to ask... What is wrong with you people? First off, I applaud the young lady who posted the original video and blew the whistle on this crap. All of the left wingers that are defending these teachers must have a twisted view on society. Stop and think about a few basic things here...

These teachers are supposed to be professional with a higher standard of ethics because of the profession they chose. Add to that, they are public employees who have to answer to the public for their actions. And, anyone who thinks a 15 year old is even close to being an adult is just plain nuts.

When something like this spreads so quickly that it leads to every U.S. and European major news outlet to pick it up and sparks outrage and debate in other countries, your slap on the wrist attitude doesn't hold much water.

YouTube has countless parody videos and video responses as of today with plenty more to come I'm sure. All we can hope for is serious punishment for the two moron teachers. In the Winnipeg Report office, we thought that this Music Video Parody summed it all up pretty good...

Two Teachers One Chair

Two high school teachers (Adeil Ahmed and Chrystie Fitchner) at Winnipeg's Churchill High-School are caught on video acting very inappropriate. Teacher, Chrystie Fitchner, (sat in the chair), seems to be highly entertained by the male teachers lurid lap dancing. This incident has brought into question what exactly is appropriate behavior from school teachers. No need to ponder that thought for long - it certainly isn't this!

The two teachers were pulled off the job after they performed the lap dance in front of about 100 students during a school-sanctioned pep rally. The incident took place during a spirit week dance competition at Churchill High School on Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2010 and a minute-long cellphone video was posted on YouTube afterwards.

The video relates the teachers grinding against each other while the woman sits in a chair placed in the middle of the gym floor. At one point, the male teacher simulates oral sex by bobbing his head several times near the woman's genitals. The female teacher simulates stroking the male teachers body throughout. There is no doubt that this was clearly beyond any boundry of crossing the line.

Winnipeg families work hard to teach their children values. We all want to make sure they have respect for others and to behave with dignity. We expect them to trust in the teachers who prepare them educationally for their futures. These two teachers should be tossed out the door of their school and many taxpayers do believe they should be facing a public mischiff charge for this incident act. Voice your feelings below.

They look for correct situations that they've been trained to deal with. Known in their circle as, "Spiritual Formation Opportunities." Ahhh, look... over there - a few young kids playing in the park... time to be friends. Hey, we're just like you. Let's play some baseball - game is over now. Let's sit down at the soda stand and have a cold drink. And, let's talk about a great friend of ours, his name is Jesus!

Yes, they work it - on the streets; spring, summer, winter and fall. But, now they're asking themselves... "How can we convert more sheep faster and how can we target our new focus group of teens, the First Nations people?"

Well thanks to the chairman of Winnipeg's downtown development committee, Justin Swandel, they were gearing up to set up shop for a $12 Million dollar recruitment center carefully cloaked as a Recreation Center. This was all going smooth as silk until word leaked that the Youth for Christ team has an upfront agenda of rounding up the "Aboriginal Youth Sheep and converting them to Christianity - to of course SAVE them!"

The Provincial government looked at this and said, "Ummm no you Fucking ain't." And the battle has now begun! Who will win... Justin Swandel and his "Youth for Christ evangelicals," or the Provincial Government who believe that hard working taxpayer's money shouldn't be dumped into the hands of Faith-Based organizations to be used for "Converting" a target Aboriginal youth group.

My two-cents... well how about setting up a rec. center with all of the faith's in there? Including a group of Atheists as well. If we have everyone there, (Atheists, Jews, Christians, Muslims, Buddhist, etc.), then at least it's a level playing field - isn't it?

Although I'm sure many Winnipeger's would much prefer to see him 6 feet underground in a homemade coffin. And, why would any decent Winnipeg citizen want that - you ask...

Let's take a look at Curtis' fine record of accomplishments & interests:

- He frequents the downtown area and the Portage Place Mall primarily looking for little girls, (he really likes 'em under 14).

- He enjoy's sexually and violently attacking helpless women and children.

- His hobbies include forcible confinement of helpless women and children.

How being a useless tool is just simply overwhelming most days. And, sometimes it's just way better to; steal a car, beat up an old dude, punch out a woman, or rape a seven-year old girl.

Yes, it indeed must be a royal bitch being an asshole. After a few months of asshole school said scumbag is considered, "Cured," by idiot social worker.

Said scumbag gets set scott free but they need to check in with their social worker once a week. After all, the tough-worded piece of paper our Pal got said in bold print:

"You MUST comply with Your Probation Order."

Oh, but nobody bothered to check to see if scumbag could actually read. And, nobody noticed that during all of those sessions at the, "Program," Scumbag was totally WASTED on everything from night-time sinus medication to cough-syrup mixed with Lysol, (Yummy).

How long do we have to watch the above cycle repeat over and over. Let's face facts. Social workers can only help people who WANT to receive it. Not waste-cases who have an IQ of two.

The only solution is a concrete room and throw away the key. If that doesn't work for the moron justice officials who sit around the Manitoba Club swiggin' back Crown Royal on ice they always need scouts to walk in front of the armoured vehicles in Afghanistan. The path in front of our convoys does need to be free of road-side bombs - no sense in good honest Canadians (who are not morons) getting hurt, or killed. But, I don't think citizens of Winnipeg would mind if our pal Curtis walked that path - hell I might even respect him. Ummmm... about 1%.

Shots Fired at Winnipeg Rooming House

Around 4:30 a.m. Dec. 30, 2009 at 624/626 Balmoral St., between Notre Dame and Cumberland Ave., (in the city's Central Park neighbourhood), gun shots were fired at a rooming house.

A man from the rooming house was shot. Reports say he is in his late 20's or early 30's. He was rushed to hospital in critical condition suffering from wounds to his upper body. Reports from the scene say the man was hit in the face and the neck area with a blast from a shotgun. Large holes, (perhaps from gun shots), were visible in the door of a house in the area. The victim's name has not been released and no arrests have been made.

A man who works at a business in the area told local reporters that he heard one gunshot then went to look outside and saw the muzzle flash of another gunshot coming from inside the rooming house.

Witnesses saw three (3) people — two men and a woman — duck and then run from the scene. The rooming house is known to Police for violence and other serious criminal problems. A woman was stabbed to death at the complex earlier this year.

Police are investigating. Anyone with information should call Crimestoppers.

Better Business Bureau Launches Search Plugin

The Better Business Bureau has partnered with Azigo, (a leader in user-centric technologies), to help consumers find businesses they can "trust" when they search and shop online.

The downloadable browser plug-in is free and displays the “BBB Accredited Business” seal whenever consumers search for products or services using popular search engines such as Google, Yahoo! and Bing.

According to the BBB, their seal indicates that a business is safe and reputable and the new search plugin will offer one-click access to the BBB report for that business. Only thing is... that BBB seal is NOT Free. So, what meaning does it really have?

The Better Business Bureau - a few FACTS...

Fact #1). The BBB DOES NOT report consumer complaints which are under investigation, even when they know the business is under criminal investigation and is about to be shut down.

Fact #2). Most BBB offices do not report any past history of a business, even when that business continuously victimizes different consumers.

Fact #3). The BBB is in the business of collecting fees from the very businesses they monitor. That's like the fox guarding the hen house.

And, by the way... if you want that Seal, it's gonna cost ya!

It costs over $500.00 a year to have their seal. They take credit cards, or check. Oh, and by the way, if you pay more than the above, your business gets a better rating! Is this beginning to sound like a major frickin' SCAM or what! The BBB is in a constant conflict of interest position. It is paid to exist by the very businesses it recommends, or condemns. It is very similar to a protection racket in that as long as you keep paying them, they keep recommending and supporting you, (assuming you don't do anything too terrible). If the payments stop, you become a business which is, "no longer recommended by the BBB."

Most people believe that that the BBB is a government-run organization, funded by our tax dollars. Many believe it is a neutral observer of business standards and practices, a place where one can get information on a legitimate business, or where one could lodge a formal complaint against a shady one. None of this is true.

The BBB is not run by the government! They are a non-profit, charity organization. Whatever money you donate to their cause is tax-deductible. The money that you donate is supposed to go into programs and charitable causes. The organization is supposed to report their income, report their board of directors, report about their programs, and so on.

Turns out, they report no income, no board of directors, no contractors who earn over $50,000 per year, and they have no programs. All they appear to have is -$849 in assets. This is, to say the least, shady!

One final irony: if you have a complaint against the Better Business Bureau, you can't file it with the Better Business Bureau. And, just as Groucho Marx once quipped, "I would never join a club that would have me as a member," the Better Business Bureau is not a member of its own organization.

Maybe it's all a big joke?

Story #1). Wasted Bitch Bashes Families Heads with 2 x 4...

A 26-year-old twit brutally beat her aunt and uncle with a 2 x 4 during a fight on Sunday night.

The incident happened around 10 p.m. on in the 600 block of Simcoe Street.

Rusty Redhead and his wife were at their home on Simcoe Street when their 26-year-old niece came over to visit Sunday night. Police say a heated argument between the trio led the young female half-wit to arm herself with a plank and attack her own family.

Rusty & wife were taken to hospital treated for head lacerations and upper body injuries. They were later released. Redhead said his gashes required 14 surgical staples to close up, while his wife received 19 stitches.

The female scumbag has been charged with two counts of assault with a weapon and breaching a probation order. Gee - maybe she should get whacked in the head and see how she likes it.

Story #2). Asian Dim-wit Clan Attacks...

At around 5am Monday morning, a group approached a man while he was sitting in his car in the 1200 block of Sherburn Street.

One of the suspects asked the 29-year-old victim for a cigarette and some money. The victim cracked his window open slightly and offered a small amount of money. Ummm... Why not drive away?

After some time, the suspect began attacking the victim who reacted by opening his car door, pushing the suspect backward. The victim abandoned his car and ran away on foot.

Officers say the first suspect and a second male suspect were carrying knives as they chased the victim on foot. They eventually got into their own cars and continued chasing him. A third female suspect was also seen entering the victim's car, according to officers.

The victim eventually went into a business in the 1400 block of Notre Dame Avenue and called police. The suspects then fled the area. Chicken-shits.

The first scumbag is described as male, Asian in appearance and around 30 years old. He is 5'8" in height and has a moustache, pock marked face, pierced nose and silver earrings in both ears. He is missing his front teeth and was wearing a blue t-shirt, red jacket and black baseball cap. He had a knife in his possession at the time of the incident. He sounds like a gormless fool. The vehicle he drove was a small, mid 1990s 2-tone sedan.

Idoit at large #2 is described as male, also Asian in appearance with a chubby build. He was shorter than the first suspect. He was wearing a baseball cap and also had a knife. The vehicle he drove was a two door, late 1990s car. It was maroon in colour.

Retarded loser #3 is described as female, Asian in appearance with a tall, thin build. She is 5'8" in height with a long face, long dark hair. She was wearing a dark brown jacket.

Sounds like a trip back to Asia would work well for these screw-tards. Put 'em on a boat back to rice-land.

Story #3). Jack-Ass Smacks his Friends Head In...

An early morning argument shortly before 3am turned really bad Sunday, as a man assaulted another man to the head with a steel shovel. Police were called to an apartment at 99 Roslyn Road after two men were at a drinking party when they got into an argument that turned physical.

One man is being charged with aggravated assault after allegedly hitting his friend with a shovel. A 26-year old man was taken to hospital in unstable condition. With friends like this, (well you know the saying).

The scumbag defense lawyer will probably say that it's Walmart or Canadian Tire's fault for selling steel shovels, and the useless prosecuter will probably say, "Duh, I think shovels are all plastic now?" Then, the case will get dismissed because nobody will know what kind of shovel is actually sold in stores in Winnipeg.

Prepare yourselves for some seriously lame-ass charges in all these cases.

Teen counsellor says homicide may have
prompted car thefts...

Local Winnipeg City at-risk teen counsellor, Liz Wolfe, (program manager for the Empowering Justice program at New Directions), said in a recent Free Press article that the recent spike in auto thefts in Winnipeg may be connected with the tragic death of the city's 26th homicide victim of the year, Jessie McKenzie.

Wolfe said McKenzie was a well-loved friend of many of the boys in her program, including Level-4 auto offenders.

17-year-old McKenzie was fatally stabbed in a Main Street bus shelter on Dec. 5 after he apparently tryied to intervene in a domestic dispute.

Wolfe said that many of the boys, ranging in age from 15 to 19, didn't know how to react to McKenzie's sudden and violent death.

"The level of hurt and anger, I believe, (pushed) many of them to regress back to car theft," she said, explaining that most of the teens in her program have fetal alcohol spectrum disorder. Wolfe said people with FASD can be highly reactive and impulsive and have a tough time understanding cause and effect.

Most Winnipegers would agree that this is a whole lot of CRAP. Councellers like Wolfe have no clue about what they are talking about with stupid comments like this. These kids are screwed up scumbags - period. Anyone with half a brian knows that poor coping mechanisms are not an excuse for killing people / crime / justifying criminal behaviour.

Think about this... ever notice how seldom they ever hurt themselves, or their scumbag buddies during these auto thefts - gee somehow they are able to make healthy decisions in their own interests about that side of the equation. Wow, amazing!

One more thing to consider here as well... How many Winnipeg residents have lost close family and good friends over the years and have yet to steal a car and blast through the city running red-lights/stop-signs and trying to out-run cops? Just thinking about it is simply ludacris.

Give your head a shake Liz Wolfe, your an idiot. Plain and simple! FASD is a reason - not an excuse. Attributing the motive of stealing more cars to one of dealing with grief is insulting to Winnipeg citizens who are risk of becoming the next statistic to these scumbags.

We all know what to do with them... If they cannot control them selves they need to be where they can be controlled... Lock 'em Up. They have no reasoning skills and they're morons. They belong in a facility and that is that.
